Reforger FDC

Howitzer from the PandaMods mod

M777 Artillery Calculator for Arma Reforger

The M777 comes to Arma Reforger with the PandaMods mod, and it is no longer a mortar problem: ranges out to eighteen kilometres, five charges, and a choice between the high and the low trajectory. Reforger FDC picks the charge and the arc, and shows how the alternatives differ.

What the calculator computes for the M777

From the gun and target positions it takes range and azimuth, walks the charges and both arcs, and returns elevation and time of flight for every one that reaches. A target at nine kilometres is reachable on charge three and charge four, high angle and low, and those solutions are not interchangeable: they differ in time of flight, in how steeply the round falls, and in dispersion. That is why the alternatives stay visible instead of hiding behind the recommended one.

The altitude difference between position and target is read from the map terrain and applied to the elevation from the table columns. At howitzer ranges this matters more than it does for a mortar: a hundred metres of height difference moves the point of impact a long way.

Why wind is not applied here

The wind correction for the M777 is deliberately switched off. The sign and the order of magnitude are confirmed by measurement, but a steady drift in the control series is still unexplained, and until it is understood the application refuses to apply the correction rather than substitute a plausible number. The absence is stated in the solution itself.

Data and rights

The numbers are the project's own in-game measurements from controlled firing; no mod files or configs were unpacked. The pack is used with the mod author's direct permission. The tables were taken on mod version 2.1.2 and checked line by line against 2.5.0, with the author confirming that the ballistics did not change between them.

How to open the M777 in the application

  1. Open Reforger FDC and choose the map workflow or the coordinate one.
  2. In the weapon block select the M777 (PandaMods) and the M107 HE round.
  3. Place the gun point and the target point; heights come from the terrain.
  4. Compare the solutions across charges and arcs, then work the correction loop.
