In-game ballistics for Arma Reforger
Arma Reforger Mortar & Artillery Calculator
Reforger FDC works out the firing data for Arma Reforger. Place the gun and the target on the map and it returns the charge, the azimuth in mils, the elevation setting and the time of flight. It is free, runs in the browser, and needs no install.
What Reforger FDC is
A fire direction centre is the link between the observer and the gun: it turns a target position into the settings the gunner dials in. In game that work is usually done by hand with a table and a ruler. Reforger FDC does the same in a couple of seconds and does not fumble the arithmetic.
The altitude difference is handled for you: the heights of the gun and the target are read from the terrain of the selected map instead of being typed in. When no map is needed there is a coordinate mode where both points are entered as numbers.
The numbers come from measured in-game firing, not from unpacked game or mod files. Every data pack in the application shows which game or mod version it was taken from and when it was last checked.
What the calculator returns
- range and azimuth from the gun to the target;
- the charge, or the number of rings, for that range;
- elevation setting and time of flight;
- the high or the low trajectory where the gun offers both;
- the altitude correction taken from the map terrain;
- the wind correction, where the data pack carries verified coefficients;
- the correction loop: record the shot, mark the impact, read the new settings;
- the terrain profile between gun and target, and dispersion where it is known.
What the data pack does not contain, the application does not invent: a missing correction is shown as missing rather than applied quietly.
Supported systems
- M252 calculator, the vanilla mortar;
- 2B14 calculator, the vanilla mortar;
- M777 calculator, the PandaMods howitzer.
Maps with built-in terrain: Everon, Arland and Kolguyev. Your own map or your own ballistic pack can be added from a local file.
How to use it
- Choose a mode: work on the map, or calculate from coordinates.
- Choose the map, the weapon and the projectile.
- Place the gun point and the target point; heights come from the terrain.
- Press calculate and read the charge, azimuth, elevation and time of flight.
- If needed, record the shot, mark the impact and read the correction.
Offline and installation
The application installs on a phone or a computer like any other: the browser offers to add it to the home screen. Calculation, mission history and the interface work with no network. Tiles of a built-in map need the network the first time they are shown and come from the cache afterwards. History stays on the device and is never uploaded; missions are exported and imported as a file.
